Vashu Bhagnani has always admired the Bachchans. But this Saturday, his veneration for the most famed family of filmdom turned into unequivocal respect. And there is a reason for that.

The producer was driving down his ailing mother Mohini to a hospital, when Abhishek Bachchan, who had just left for home after seeing his father Amitabh off, saw Bhagnani and his family stuck on road. The actor rushed immediately for help and admitted the 68-year old Mohini in Lilavati Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Ever since, Bhagnani has been thanking Abhishek profusely. "She was having a heart problem and her condition was critical on Saturday. But she is alright now," says Bhagnani.

He gets emotional when he says, "I was touched by Abhishek's gesture. He was there with me throughout. Even after he left, he kept inquiring about my mother's health."

In fact, the Big B was also concerned about Mohini's health. "Amitji was genuinely concerned. The Bachchans are extremely nice people. Not everyone stands by you when you need help - that's why Bachchans are Bachchans and the rest are rest," says Bhagnani.
