Abhishek Bachchan has been already nominated the superstar of 2006. He, like Hrithik, will rock in many special effects films and romantic sagas. He is to be paired with Aishwarya Rai in Umrao Jaan and Guru, two films to be made by highly acclaimed directors.

With Hrithik, Abhishek Bachchan is also billed to rock the wide screen in Yashraj Films Dhoom II which has a lot of pyrotechnics.

Farhan Akhtar too, has plenty of pyrotechnics in his new film Don, a remake of the old blockbuster starring the Big B. This one stars Shah Rukh Khan. It looks like 2006 is the year of special effects films being center-stage in India.

In 2006, the special effects employed will cost more than the other aspects of a film and will take up the major portion of the budget, say Bollywood pundits.

2005 was a year of sex comedies which made their producers laugh all the way to the bank. Film with double entendres, borderline dialogues, jokes and funny sexy stories held the attention of the audiences. But that formula is going out now. Sex comedies have to be slick and quick in events. The slower, jazzier ones have failed to make the mark.

Abhishek Bachchan is going great guns in 2006 with the public opinion deciding that he is the superstar of the future. With Dhoom II, Umrao Jaan, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna and many other big banner films lined up for release he is set to rock Bollywood. He is again paired with Aishwarya Rai in master film maker Mani Ratnam's Guru in which A R Rahman provides the musical score. Vidya Balan of Parineeta fame will also play a stellar role in the film.
