On Thursday, Abhishek Bachchan joined the likes of Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman and Michael Schumacher when Omega Watches named him as their latest brand ambassador.

The closely guarded secret of the new brand ambassador was revealed at a plush hotel in the city where Bachchan was gifted the latest Omega by Stephen Urquhart, President, Omega.

Bachchan junior was in his elements and bowled the guests and officials over with his humour and down-to-earth attitude. Wearing two watches, he said, “I am endorsing the brand simply because I love the watches. I have been wearing Omega-constellation for a long time now and I respect what the brand stands for.”

When he was asked if he was endorsing the brand in his upcoming movies, he quipped, “Unfortunately Omega let me down completely by not making sun dials. My next movie is a period film and watches were not in the picture then.”

What is the one brand that Abhishek would never endorse? Pat comes the answer; “My competitors.” “Regarding brands, I never choose what I will endorse. People approach me and then I decide. On a serious note, I personally think endorsing or lending your name to a brand is serious business, which should be taken responsibly.”

Omega is the fourth brand Bachchan jr is endorsing. The others are Ford Fiesta, LG and Motorola.
