"Who says my film is three hours and 20 minutes long?" demands Karan Johar edgily. The director is clearly a bundle of nerves.

In fact, he says, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna has him as anxious as he was in 1998 before the release of his first film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

"Leave my son," a dying man tells his daughter-in-law from a hospital bed. "You don’t love him. By staying with him you are denying him of someone else’s love and yourself of true love. These unfulfilled relationships won’t make anyone happy." The man had stumbled upon his daughter-in-law nuzzling her lover in a public space. Now he confronts her in a moment fraught with ache and regret.

As Bollywood’s leading stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji act out the scene, the director, Karan Johar, anxiously watches the monitor. He has reason to be nervous.

The Delhi High Court on Friday cleared the deck for the release of Karan Johar's multistarrer `Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (KANK) on August 11 by dismissing the petition of another film director, who claimed to have registered the title first for his movie.

While dismissing the petition of director Biswaroop Roy Choudhary, Justice Vikramjit Sen said, "Neither of the parties has authored or conceived the catchy phrase or title 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna', which has been on the lips of any number of persons on any given day throughout India."

Karan Johar's movies are high on star value, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna is no exception. If Shah Rukh, Amitabh, Abhishek, Rani and Preity were not enough in the movie, there will also be fleeting cameos by Arjun Rampal and Karan's lucky mascot, Kajol.

The latest on this front is John Abraham. He will be featured in the song Rock 'n' Roll Soniye. "Our friendship has come a long way since he offered me a cameo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and I rejected it," says John.
