Abhishek Bachchan says he loves female attention but can’t seem to find the time to enjoy it...

How do you feel being called one of the hottest men in the country?

It feels good. Who doesn’t like being called hot? But I would rather be known for my work and not my personality. Just being hot obviously doesn’t take you too far. It’s your good work that sustains you in your career.

Do you revel in the female attention that you get?

Where are all the females? I know there are some women out there who like me, but I am so busy working that I don’t get a chance to revel in that attention. But I must admit all that attention does give me a high.

What does success mean to you?

Success really doesn’t mean much, as long as you continue doing things that you like.

Rephrasing that question, when would you think you have truly achieved success?

The day my parents are proud of me.

Aren’t they already?

(Smiling) I hope so.

Now that you are doing well in your career, do you feel you have proved a point to your detractors, who initially almost wrote you off?

I am glad they were around, because I got to learn a lot. I started from the bottom and those initial films which didn’t work helped me a lot.

Being Amitabh Bachchan’s son, how can you say you started from the bottom?

I agree I might have got an opening, I got a foot in the door, but the rest was all up to me. Nobody was ready to work with me at one point of time. I sat outside many producers’ offices. So it’s almost like starting from the bottom.

What’s your worst fear at this moment?

The fear of losing it all. I am so glad that I get up every morning to live my dream. It’s always been my dream to be an actor. I fear it won’t be the same always.
