With three back-to-back mega-buck capers lined up this Diwali, Abhishek Bachchan has a lot to cheer about. His forthcoming release is J P Dutta's magnum opus Umrao Jaan.

CNN-IBN correspondent Akanksha Banerjee caught up with the star in London to get his take on the film.

Your latest film Umrao Jaan is releasing on November 3. While comparisons are going to be inevitable, how do you think this it is going to be different than the earlier version?

Unfortunately I haven’t seen Muzzafarji's Umrao Jaan. So, I don’t have any authority to comment on his film. I think it would be unfair of me to comment upon something, which I haven’t even seen. I am not really bothered if people think they need to compare the two films. J P saab never set out to make a remake. He has only made an adaptation of the book, not of Muzaffarji's film.

J P Dutta was the director you started your career with. What was it like working with the same director as a newcomer and now as an experienced actor?

This is our third film together. We worked together in LoC in between. I keep telling him jokingly that doing a J P Dutta film is like going on a holiday for me. In fact it’s like coming back home.

Has it got any easier for you to work with your father? Now that you two have done so many films together.

It just gets worse actually. You can’t get over with the fact that you are standing in the frame with what is considered the best. It's overwhelming and overpowering. But the best part of doing films with dad is that I get to spend a lot of time with him.

So what else is coming up this year? What are your forthcoming projects?

I have got Umrao Jaan releasing on November 3, Dhoom II releasing by the end of November and also Guru which will come up by the year-end.
