Careless whispers: Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan
While the entire nation speculates about the marital status of Bollywood's star couple, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, here's a small pointer about what could be the truth. Last Wednesday, Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan were present at a suburban discotheque to launch the Filmfare Collector's Issue. There were a fair number of media persons present, and father and son were in good humour. The conversation veered from Filmfare to politics to films. That's when someone asked Abhishek about his impending marriage to Aishwarya. "Who told you it's impending?" shot back Abhishek, poker-faced. Everyone heard this. Now, in view of all the puja-paath being done lately, with Ash sitting on Abhishek's left and all that, what do we make of this statement?

P.S: While we are at it, we also have a rather cutesie story on the couple. This story has come straight from the sets of Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar in Jaipur. Since Ashutosh is shooting in sync sound, cellphones are a no-no on the sets of this film, where the filmmaker has installed a jammer. There are a few good old land lines which are operative. Now, one of these phones is reserved for Aishwarya Rai, according to our source. And ever so often, when this phone rings, Ash picks it up with a tinkling, "Hi Jaanu." So much so, that this particular line is called the 'Jaanu phone' on the sets.
