For the first time in the history of Bollywood, stars will be greeted with a red carpet from the airport to the venue of a premiere.

Toronto mayor David Miller has personally invited Abhishek Bachchan and the entire cast of Mani Ratnam's Guru for the world premiere of the film in Canada on January 11 at the prestigious Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre Centre in Toronto. Miller will be present at the airport to greet the Indian celebrities.

The show has been organised by Padam Kumar, COO of Roger Nair production and the distributor of Guru, in Canada. When contacted, Kumar said, “We are getting a red carpet organised for Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai from the airport to the venue. They will be heading to the theatre through Young Street, the busiest street of Toronto, which will be shut from 5.30 to 11.30 pm. After the screening they will join the mayor for dinner.”

The organisers are expecting about 10,000 people to line up the street for a glimpse of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai for the red carpet premiere in true Hollywood style.
