Now that the shooting of the encounter film Shootout at Lokhandwala is complete, the first major promotional poster of the film is out. And it features Abhishek Bachchan prominently. However, there is a slight problem: producer Sanjay Gupta doesn't want to use Abhishek as the face of the film (along with others, of course) when he is only doing a cameo.

Says Sanjay Gupta, "I really think Abhishek shouldn't be on the posters. It's a special appearance. And I don't want to exploit the Bachchans's relations with Sanjay Dutt and with my director Apoorva Lakhia. Both father and son have been gracious enough to give us the dates for the shooting. And both have refused to take money. After all this I don't want either of them to feel shortchanged. I'm okay with Amitji on the hoardings because he has a full-fledged role. But not Abhishek. He's too big a star today and we can't mislead the audience about the length of his role."

Apparently, it was director Apoorva Lakhia who insisted on Abhishek being in the first poster, although Sanjay Gupta was against it.

But Apoorva Lakhia has got the whole Bachchan strategy in place. "I know exactly what I'm doing. And knowing the nature of my relationship with the Bachchans I'd be the last person on this earth to misuse either of them. Yeah, it is true Abhishek has a brief role. It's only 5 minutes 32 seconds long. But everyone else in the cast has equally brief roles. In that sense that Shootout At Lokhandwala is a pure ensemble piece with cameos for everyone. Even Amitji's role lasts for only 10 minutes. Even if Abhishek is there for a cameo he makes an impact. So yes, I'd like Abhishek to be featured prominently in the publicity. We've already done so in the first poster and when the first poster goes up in Juhu, I want Abhishek to be right there with Amitji, Sanju and the others," he says.
