As the mercury rises, Bollywood too is feeling the heat with only two big hits, Guru and Namastey London, in the first quarter of 2007.

But no sweat, with at least six eagerly awaited films ready to shower theatres, Bollywood can look forward to some respite. So, here are the films with which Bollywood is planning to beat the heat.

Nishabd may not have clicked but Amitabh Bachchan is at it again, this time with Tabu in a perfect concoction called Cheeni Kum, which is a romantic comedy between a 64-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman.

Next up in the pipeline this summer is Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - this offering from the Yashraj stable releases in the fag end of summer in June.

A stellar star cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Lara Dutta, this film looks like director Shaad Ali's ode to love and confusion with a large smattering of urban kitsch.

But if it’s action that you crave for then look no further and get ready for a May release of Shootout At Lokhandwala.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film, which has Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead, is about a daylight encounter lasting six hours that transformed suburban Mumbai into a virtual war zone.

And for lovers of typical Bollywood potboilers there is Fool n Final. Director Ahmed Khan has got together Sunny Deol, Shahid Kapur, Vivek Oberoi, Arbaaz Khan, Ayesha Takia and Paresh Rawal for this leave your brain at home entertainer.

But if you insist on taking your brain along then settle for Vishal Bharadwaj's Blue Umbrella, which is an adaptation of Ruskin Bond's short story starring Pankaj Kapur in the lead.

Going by Bharadwaj's track record of Makdee, Maqbool and Omkara, Blue Umbrella will definitely be a must watch.

Another big release waiting in the wings for a May release is Anurag Basu's Life in a… Metro which is also Shilpa Shetty's first Bollywood appearance after her Celebrity Big Brother win. But that's not the only USP of this film as at the helm is director Anurag Basu whose last venture Gangster was a runaway hit.
