It's Bollywood, but with a distinctly London flavour.

A cast including some of India's biggest film icons, supported by more than 1,000 extras and 400 dancers, descended on the capital to film a movie described as "a madcap chick flick".

Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (Dance Baby Dance), which is released this weekend, stars Abhishek Bachchan alongside Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta. Bachchan's father, Bollywood legend Amitabh, also makes an appearance.

Londoners were offered many of the hundreds of supporting roles and the movie features locations including Tower Bridge, Waterloo station and Kensington Palace Gardens.

Director Shaad Ali Sahgal said: "My inspiration for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was to explore the hearts of Indians in Southall. We wanted to shoot at major London locations, which are obviously very crowded, but thanks to careful planning and co-ordination we managed to achieve fantastic results."

The film is the fifth by Mumbai-based Yash Raj Films to have been shot in the UK and was one of 40 Bollywood productions filmed in London last year.
