BHOOL BHULAIYAA has touched approx. Rs. 8.25 crores in 10 days from the three major markets - U.K., U.S.A. and Australia - which is fantastic. On the other hand, LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG is excellent in U.K., but is disappointing in America. Its combined total from these two markets, after 10 days, is approx. Rs. 6 crores.

Balaji Telefilms Pvt Ltd. and co-producers Popcorn Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd. have set the ball rolling for their film Mission Istanbul. The first song was recently recorded in Mumbai with music director Anu Malik being complimented by a famous Turkish singer Ege.

Mission Istanbul has ensemble cast featuring names like Suneil Shetty, Abhishek Bachchan, Zayed Khan, Viviek Oberoi, Shreya Saran, Nikitan Dhir, and Shabbir Ahluwalia. Director Apoorva Lakhia will head the extensive shooting schedule that will start in Turkey on October 25.

Eros Entertainment has taken a majority stake in startup Indian visual effects house Eyeqube Studios and is partnering with Emmy-winning designer Charles Darby to raise the quality of Bollywood f/x. Darby, whose credits include “The Matrix,” “Titanic,” “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” will be creative director.

It’s boom time in Overseas as the two new releases - BHOOL BHULAIYAA and LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG - have opened to a big response in the international markets. In U.K., BHOOL BHULAIYAA has emerged the biggest opener of 2007, while the U.S. opening weekend collections rank amongst the biggest. In Australia, however, the film is average.

LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG has fared well in U.K., but is lower-than-anticipated in U.S. [when compared to other Yash Raj biggies]. Overall, the Idd weekend proved bountiful for the industry!

Enthuses Abhishek from Namibia where he's shooting for Goldie Behl's Drona, "I got to work with mom (Jaya). I had done a cameo in a Bengali film as her son. Mom and Pa are two different actors and human beings, they’re both unique actors. It's a sheer pleasure to share screen space with mom. I hope to do as many films with her as I've done with Pa."

Rakeysh Mehra, who was supposed to start his next project Delhi 6 at the end of the year, suddenly decided to shoot an important scene in Delhi on Sunday on Eid. After the moon was sighted on Saturday evening, Rakeysh flew to the capital with his crew.
