Not again!

This is one project that's surely jinxed. Dilli 6 is stuck in the doldrums again and this time it is not director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra who is to be blamed. Lead pair Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor had to return to Mumbai after shooting for only a few days at a village near Sambhar in Rajasthan. Abhishek lost his grandmother Teji Bachchan on December 21 and had to return to Mumbai to perform the last rites. As for Sonam, she too lost her maternal grandfather and had to come back to be with her family in the moment of crisis.

It so happens that after Abhishek left for Mumbai, Mehra was filming some crucial sequences with Sonam in order to shoot most of her portions before wrapping up on December 29. Unfortunately, Sonam also had to leave.

A unit member on condition of anonymity says, "It's extremely unfortunate that both our lead actors lost their grandparents during the first schedule of the film. We hardly managed to shoot anything in the few days that we were here."

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra cancelled the entire schedule and returned to Mumbai last week. If sources are to be believed, the producer, UTV Motion Pictures, is also quite disappointed. Previously, Mehra had taken an unexpectedly long time to rope in the lead pair and now, the actors have taken a break.

Sources close to the Bachchans indicate that Amitabh and Abhishek will report to work sometime later this week. Our source from the unit of Dilli 6 says, "Abhishek will be back with us later this week. He has agreed to complete our film in a start-to-finish schedule before moving on to his other films.
