| It was strictly Amitabh Bachchan’s night on Thursday.
At 65, the Big B is blessed with boundless energy and then some more. With infectious enthusiasm, he zipped from one personal engagement to another professional one in the western suburbs, covering four in all on Thursday night. And he seemed to be having fun! None of the other Bachchans could keep up with young Big B all the way. So cleverly, they divided the assignments between them. Bahu Aishwarya accompanied Pa Bachchan to two events.
And son Abhishek and wife Jaya joined him at the other two. Time marched on, but Bachchan, who wore a trendy, if gaudy green sports watch, heeded it not. The night was still young when he returned to Jalsa from the last of his assignments, a spring in his step as he disappeared behind the gates. This is how it went for Big B... At 8.15 pm, Bachchan, Aishwarya and Abhishek were present at an event organised to promote their new film Sarkar Raj. The ever punctual Bachchan was bang on time and after posing for shutterbugs and answering a few question, he left for his second event at the other end of the suburbs.
At 9.20 pm, Bachchan along with Ash attended another promotional event related to the new film at JW Marriott. Abhishek chose to skip this one. After posing for shutterbugs once again and giving sound bytes, these Bachchans left in 30 minutes to join Jaya and Abhishek at the next venue. At 10.20 pm, Big B and Jaya sneaked into a multiplex close to home for a film screening. Abhishek and Ash chose to sit this one out in their car. The shutterbugs went click-click-click, the securitymen played spoilsport, but Bachchan intervened and gamely posed for the cameras. No sooner than the lights went out and the film began, the Bachchans sneaked out!
Finally, it was the premiere of Sikandar Kher’s film Woodstock Villa at Fame Adlabs in Andheri. The Khers are family friends, so the full Bachchan clan made it to this event, and they stayed longer than usual here.
