From all the new things Abhishek attempted for his film Drona, what came to him very naturally was riding the horse. Those who have seen the film will vouch for the fact that Abhishek looks convincing and comfortable as he is speeding on the horse. Especially the scene where he rescues the horse from a running train forms the highlight of the film. The action sequence was shot in Namibia and Abhishek rode a horse named Whisky.

But in another scene from the film when Abhishek is riding the horse through a desert in Bikaner, things weren’t as easy. That’s because in this particular scene, Abhishek had to double up on the horse with Priyanka Chopra. Handling a horse single-handedly is easier as compared to when you have company. Add to it what the team realized at the last moment was that Priyanka had a fear for horses. So Abhishek had to be twice as cautious while filming the scene. And a professional that he is, the scene turned out just perfect onscreen.

For Drona , the production team used as many as four different horses for the different shooting schedules. There was a new horse in each shooting location comprising of Namibia, Prague, Bikaner and Mumbai. Interestingly the horse which was used in the Mumbai schedule was also a part of Abhishek’s wedding celebrations. As per Hindu traditions, the groom has to come on a horse to take home his bride. And the horse which Abhishek rode in his marriage to take home Aishwarya was the same which was used in the film Drona .
