Goldie Behl's Drona has a lot of special effects and has been shot in Prague, Rajasthan and Mumbai. So a lot of props of the film had to be transported across various destinations. Since the Prague schedule had to be cut short because of bad weather, the same ambience was recreated in the interiors in Mumbai for the balance portions.
Now most important to this sequence were three very stylish Alfa Romeo cars, yellow in colour and state of the art machines. When the cars were transported to Mumbai, every person started saying that they would keep the car as a memento of the film, especially Abhishek Bachchan who just loves cars and has a huge collection of his own.
Since all these Alfa Romeo cars were brought from Europe they were left hand drive cars and everyone realized that they cannot be used in India. The entire team was sorely disappointed.
Says Goldie Behl, the director of the film "We required the particular model of yellow car and we imported the same from Europe... We forgot to mention to them to send us a right hand drive. Once they landed here we realized that apart from shooting we could not use the cars on Indian roads. So we finished our shooting and sent them back. But alas we all would have loved to have kept one of them".
