AR Rahman, who has been too busy attending award ceremonies and honorary functions after the world wide recognition for his musical endeavor in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, has forced the producers of ‘Delhi-6’ to shift the release date by a month.

Grapevine has it that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra ‘s ‘Delhi-6’ was slated for release on Feb 20, but the date had to be postponed by a month because Rahman was held-up attending other events.

The giant poster of Delhi 6 with a mirror reflecting your image greets you as you walk into Rakeysh Mehra's Bandra office. Casually dressed and in an upbeat mood, the director almost tells me the actual story of the Delhi 6, about why he thinks Aamir Khan is his biggest competitor and reveals his plans for the future.

There is a strong buzz in the industry circles that music director A.R. Rahman is the reason for the postponement of Delhi 6 by a month.

This Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor starrer film being directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and jointly produced by Mehra and UTV was to release on February 20th.

Our sources reveal, "Though the shooting part of the film is complete what is now left is the film's background score which is being given by the music maestro. But Rahman being an Oscar nominee and also being busy visiting the USA for the Golden Globe Awards ceremony earlier and now with the Screen Actors Guild Awards happening there, Rahman has hardly got any time to dedicate for Delhi 6.

THE FILM

Dostana should get credit for making the 'gay' word almost cool and even a sort of fashion statement to flaunt! Yes, the film did manage to get an alternate relationship out of a closet and almost suddenly, every person, whether straight or gay, was seen debating about 'right to be a gay'! The film was fun for most of its duration, in fact almost riotous in the first half, though an unnecessary angle of drawing a child (Bobby Deol's son) into the entire mess was really uncalled for. Still, Priyanka's golden swimming costume, John's yellow trunk and Abhishek's naughty antics made sure that there was no dull moment in Tarun Mansukhani's Dostana.
