Junior Bachchan took over an award on behalf of his loving wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the India Today Woman Summit.

Because of high fever and severe throat infectivity, Ash could not make it to the event Friday.

The event organizers required someone to take the prize on Ash's behalf.

So after a lot of coaxing, Abhi went to the social occasion in order to fill up Aishwarya's place.

On his blog, Big B wrote, “Aishwarya had a restful day and there seems to be a slight improvement in her condition.”

"The swelling inside the mouth below the tonsil is not tonsillitis as was presumed. It is something else and that is worrying. When you cannot swallow water even, it is more worrying. But today the antibiotics seem to be working and there is some relief. The infection abates. The rash and swelling on the face reduces. She has been able to take in some liquids, but her speech is still laboured.”

The India Today Woman Summit and Awards 2010, took place in Mumbai to greet the role of modernistic Indian woman to the work force.

The event, in its second year, saw illustration of women from literally every line of work, be it corporate India or enterprisers, nongovernmental organizations and so on. (With Input from Agencies)
