Fox Star Studios India announced Monday that it will co-produce helmer Rohan Sippy's "Dum Maro Dum," starring Abhishek Bachchan and Rana Daggubati, with the director's Rohan Sippy Productions shingle.

Bollywood veteran Ramesh Sippy, Rohan's father, will produce. Ramesh Sippy earlier produced Warner Bros.' "Chandni Chowk To China," which was a critical and commercial failure.

"Dum Maro Dum" is a thriller set amidst the thriving drug industry of Goa, India's most popular tourist destination. The film, which is the third association between Bachchan and Rohan Sippy after 2003's "Kuch Naa Kaho" and 2005's "Bluffmaster," also stars Bipasha Basu, Prateik Babbar and Aditya Panscholi and has music by Pritam.

For Daggubati, the film will be his Bollywood debut. His first release, the Telugu-language "Leader," opened in February and was a hit.

Unlike Sony, which debuted in India with the failure "Saawariya" and Warner Bros., Fox has enjoyed success in the country, initially by distributing "Slumdog Millionaire," and recently teaming with Dharma Productions for "My Name Is Khan."
