With four cast members on board - Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and newly added Omi Vaidya - Abbas-Mustan are set to launch their crime thriller The Italian Job remake.

The film is an official adaptation of the 2003 Hollywood heist film, headlining Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron, which itself was the remake of the 1969 British film of the same name.

It's the story of a team of thieves who plan to steal gold bullion from a former associate who double crossed them. The film famously shows the thieves pull off the flawless heist by creating Los Angeles largest traffic jam ever by tapping into the city's traffic control system.

The director duo, known for their past Hollywood adaptations, assures that the film will be seriously revamped and Indianized, but retain its cult mode.

The Bollywood remake will have two female leads and six prominent male leads. The Hollywood film featured Charlize Theron, the sole female lead, playing Stella Bridger, an expert safecracker.

"We're changing the original film considerably. There'll be two important female characters in our version that weren't there in the original," said Abbas.

The film has been in scripting for a year now.

"We've worked really hard on the subject for more than a year. In fact we've been keeping quiet only because we didn't want to say anything about the project until we were ready. Now we can move ahead," Abbas told TOI.

Producers, Studio 18, acquired filming rights from Paramount Pictures.

Filming will begin in Goa in November 2010 followed by schedules in Russia and New Zealand.
