Actor Abhishek Bachchan turns 36 today.

Father Amitabh Bachchan and B-town friends sent strength and love to the dashing actor.

Some friends wished him a "superlative year", while others called him "elder brother" and the "coolest" person.

"We await Abhishek to return from his shoot to wish him his birthday. It is past the midnight. It is now the 5th of Feb and we give him strength and wishes for this new year in his life," the senior Bachchan wrote on his blog last night.

Reportedly, Abhishek would celebrate his birthday with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and their newly born 'Beti B', as their daughter is fondly called.

Many friends including Sonam Kapoor and Bipasha Basu took to Twitter to wish him.

"Happy birthday @juniorbachchan! You by far the nicest coolest person I know," Sonam wrote.

"Wishing my elder brother @juniorbachchan a very happy birthday. Lots of love to you bro," Neil Nitin Mukesh tweeted.

Actress Bipasha Basu said, "Happy Happy Birthday @juniorbachchan! Love and Hugs from Bippy."

"It's @juniorbachchan's birthday!! AB-H-I-to the-Shake it, may you have a superlative year and every joy and happiness imaginable! Big love!," music composer-singer Vishal Dadlani wrote on twitter.

His friends sent in much needed wishes as Abhishek's recent films, including the January release 'Players', have failed to create magic at the box office. He will next be seen in Rohit Shetty's 'Bol Bachchan', said to be based on the 1979 comic caper 'Golmaal'.

His 'Dum Maaro Dum' co-star Rana Daggubati tweeted, "Happy Birthday to the coolest co-star ever @juniorbachchan. Have a superb year chief!! Be susegaad (satisfied)."

Music composer-singer Aadesh Shrivastava said, "Janam din ki shubhkamnayen bhaiya. god bless u with all happiness."

Abhishek was honoured with the Green Globe Award for an "outstanding contribution by a celebrity to fight climate change" during the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit in Delhi on Thursday.
