When asked for the reason behind it, the director says, "This is film is very close to my heart like Rang De Basanti since it is about my home town Delhi. So the film has to be perfect. But my wife and I saw the film while editing and I'm not satisfied with it on a whole. We are planning to re-shoot some climax portions in Delhi with Abhishek, Sonam and other actors. We will start working on it by the end of October."

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had created history with RANG DE BASANTI. The film won accolades all over and turned out to be one of the biggest ever hits of Aamir Khan's career. Not just it also added credibility to the then-upcoming banner UTV; it also gave Mehra a shot in the arm after an ill-fated debut with AKS. The film's release came at just the right time as well since it coincided with Republic Day due to its 26th January, 2006 arrival.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is busy shooting the last bits of Dilli 6. The movie is almost complete. The maker was in America recently shooting an important sequence.
Rakeysh and his production team shot a dream sequence in Times Square. But since they needed to shoot without any crowds in the otherwise busy area, they had to get special arrangements.
Mumbai:The creative energy flowing under Rakeysh Mehra's directorial vision is his wife Bharathi who has edited both Aks and Rang De Basanti, and has just begun to edit Rakeysh's third film Dilli 6.
Rakeysh has surrendered the material to his wife. "I'm dying to see what I've done in Dilli 6. I haven't entered the editing studio yet. Since she's doing the editing, she first needs to be happy with my work. I need to let her do her work. It's the same with any other technician on board. I can't sit on Rahman's head when he's composing a song.
New Delhi, June 14: For once the usually humdrum life of Chandni Chowk had a starry air about it! The rickshaw pullers, the vegetable vendors and the traders in the Hauz Qazi Chowk were left star struck as the cast and crew of Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra's "much-in-the-news" 'Dilli 6' descended at the busy by lanes of the area last evening for the last leg of the shooting of the movie, touted to be an autobiographical account of the Director's childhood memories of life led in the by lanes of Chandni Chowk.

• But there’re stories of how Rakeysh bullied you.
What nonsense! Rakeysh is a lamb. He is incapable of screaming at anyone. We get along like house on fire. I instinctively understand how he wants me to do a shot. We don’t even have to say anything to each other. Abhishek, Rakeysh and I had so much fun while shooting for Dilli 6.
