Abhishek Bachchan couldn't be happier. The film Paa, which he produced under the family banner, has won the National Award. His father, superstar Amitabh Bachchan, played his son in the movie.

It’s a comeback of sorts for Bollywood’s Big B, not just for his path-breaking performance as a 13-year old boy, Auro, but as a producer.

Amitabh Bachchan’s production house, ABCL, is back in the race with Paa. The production company, formed in 1996, ran out of luck after it hosted the Miss World pageant and a string of unsuccessful movies like Aks, Major Saab, Mrityudaata, Tere Mere Sapne.

R Balki has done it again - an unusual plot deftly treated, entertaining moments and some real good performances, all come together in his second directorial venture, Paa. In Cheeni Kum, Balki got Amitabh Bachchan to romance a younger woman. In Paa, he presents the actor in a role that's a complete opposite of the mature, control freak character he played in Cheeni Kum.

Auro (Bachchan) is a child born out of wedlock and suffers from Progeria - a rare genetic disorder due to which he ages at five times the normal rate. His parents, Alok (Abhishek Bachchan) and Vidya (Balan) met in London, as students, and fell in love.

The much-anticipated film Paa is on the verge of hitting the theatres. It is releasing tomorrow (December 4). Today, Amitabh Bachchan is holding its premiere at the IMAX Wadala multiplex, and it will be a big event with the who and who of Bollywood attending it.

Amitabh wrote on his blog that it was a great joy speaking to all the Bollywood celebrities.
