Although the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Raavana is complete and the postproduction of the film is on in full swing, this incident from the last schedule of the film is something the cast and crew will never forget. It concerns Abhishek Bachchan, who plays Raavana and his co-star, South superstar Vikram, who plays Rama in the film.

Vikram is all smiles about the way ‘Raavan’ is being shaped up by Mani Ratnam. The ‘Cheeyan’ says the film is going to be a milestone in his career sine he is playing the protagonist in the Tamil version and antagonist in the Hindi version, which has not been attempted so far by any actor.

We are talking about the production cost so far of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’. Yes Rs.55 crores is the amount of money that’s involved in the making of ‘Raavan’, keeping in mind the fact that it’s a bilingual being made in Tamil and Hindi.

After director Mani Ratnam watched the final version of his film “Raavan”, he apparently wasn’t happy with the way a few scenes had shaped up. So he wanted to reshoot them.

The film is inspired from the events of ‘Ashokavanam’ episode in the epic Ramayana. As usual every thing about the film including the story line was kept under strict secrecy. But we managed to get a feel from the version edited so far.

The dubbing work of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan is almost over and last week Vikram completed his portion.

Sources close to Mani say the director is very pleased with the final product.
