Karan Johar’s Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna (KANK), which was released globally last year, is amongst the four top grossing foreign language films that were released in the UK last year.

The data has been compiled by the UK Film Council’s Research and Statistics Unit.

India will see the strongest and a record turn-out of films and film professionals at the top-rated Toronto film festival, to be held from September 7 to 16, this year. India’s glamour quotient, already the talk of the town, will make its presence felt at the festival. Also, debutant feature filmmakers and a documentary filmmaker will be present at the event and convey India’s multi-layered cinema genres.

Karan has found a new job on vacation. "I'm here in New York and doing a great job of advising Indian couples on their marriages. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna seems to have triggered off this chain of doubts and revisions in the minds of many couples. And they feel I'm in a position to advise them. Lucky me, poor them."

“It’s a great acknowledgment of my work!” says a buoyant Karan Johar from New York. ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ has just been acquired by The Library of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscar Academy’s Margaret Herrick Library). His second film to be picked up after ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’, the script is intended for usage for research purposes by students, filmmakers, writers and actors.

KABHI ALVIDA NAA KEHNA has emerged a money spinner. The film has grossed approx. Rs. 31 crores in 17 days from the three major markets - U.S., U.K. and Australia.
